About the practice

Bookkeeping that fits how you run your business

Running a business means doing a dozen jobs at once, and bookkeeping tends to be the one that waits. When it waits too long, it gets harder to catch up and harder to trust the numbers.

We are a small practice that works with local business owners. We keep your books current, ask you the questions that matter and tell you what we find, in plain language.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need to use specific accounting software?
We will tell you which programs we work in. If you do not have one yet, we can talk through the options and what suits your business.
My records are a mess. Is that a problem?
It is more common than you might think. We start by reviewing what you have and explain what it would take to catch up. See catch-up and clean-up.
Do you prepare tax returns?
Our bookkeeping work prepares your records for whoever prepares your tax return, and we can work with your tax preparer. Tax return preparation is a separate service from bookkeeping.
How is bookkeeping priced?
It depends on the size of the business and the number of transactions. We agree on the scope and a monthly fee in writing before we begin, so you know the cost up front.
Can I stop whenever I want?
We will explain the terms in writing before you start, including how to end the arrangement.
